Ask Support
Q: I attempted to make corrections to locked/extracted timesheets using the Time export/import method and now the hours have been duplicated, what did I miss?
A: When making corrections to locked/extracted timesheets via the Time Export/Import, it is a 3 step process that involves:
- Running the standard Time import for the timesheet entries that need to be corrected. This file will be copied/updated for next steps and for each of the files to be imported, remember the “work_date” column B will need to be copies and pasted into “post_date” column T
- Save a copy of exported file, i.e., Zero Hours file and replace “hours” column H with 0 hours and leave all other columns as is (except pasting dates from column B to column T). Ensure that the only rows on the file are values that need to be corrected. Resave this 2nd file.
- When importing this Zero hour file into Unanet, you would choose REPLACE for “Cell Update Method” and behind the scenes this zeros out the incorrect entries
- The Allow Adjustments box will need to be checked
- The 3rd file is an updated copy of your original file with positive hours, column B work dates copied and pasted into column T post date and update the necessary columns with the correct timesheet data (i.e., labor category, bill rate, cost rate, etc) and save as Correcting Hours
- When doing this 2nd import of your file with the positive hours, you would choose APPEND for “Cell Update Method” (this will apply the correct entries).
- Resulting Status should be set to LOCKED unless you want the data to go through the approval process again.
- The Allow Adjustments box will need to be checked
