Net Promoter Score (NPS) is a metric used by businesses to measure customer loyalty and satisfaction towards a product or service. The NPS is based on the question: “On a scale of 0-10, how likely are you to recommend our product/service to others?” Based on their response, customers fall into three categories: promoters (score 9-10), passives (score 7-8), and detractors (score 0-6).
To calculate the NPS, businesses subtract the percentage of detractors from the percentage of promoters. For example, if 60% of customers are promoters and 20% are detractors, the NPS would be 40.
