Importing Invoice Additional Items
In an upcoming Unanet point release a new capability to import Additional Items on Invoices is being introduced. This addresses a number of different requirements, including:
- Invoices are generated in a third party system, but need to be reflected in Unanet for AR Aging and Cash Receipts processing purposes. Multiple invoices can be created at once via import.
- Tax items calculated by a third-party application or retainage calculated outside of Unanet can be imported and added to invoices in Draft status.
- Open AR can be imported to help accelerate migration to Unanet Financials (assuming that historical invoiced to date information is not required in subsequent invoices).
This new feature is available to the Billing Manager/P&R Admin and System Admin roles.

Quick Topic - Mobile Unanet App as Icon on Smartphone Home Screen
Brief description: You can save the Mobile Optimized site as an icon to your smartphone home screen, looking and behaving just like an app. This makes Unanet’s mobile timesheet feel just like an app, only better because it is more secure and because updates never need to be downloaded.
This can be useful for both Mobile Time and Mobile Expense.

Please speak with your Customer Success Manager if you have any questions or concerns.
Ask Support
Q: Why doesn’t a specific project show up on an employee’s timesheet?
A: Here is the list of settings/areas to check when a project does not appear on an employee’s timesheet or dropdown of their timesheet:
http://knowledgecenter.unanet.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=884788&src=contextnavpagetreemode
The reason this can happen is that the newly assigned project hasn't been moved into the My Projects column by the user (#4), or because the user's Employee Type is not linked to the project's pay code (#8). Additionally, these may be reasons that the project is not showing up on the employee's timesheet:
- User has not been assigned to the project
- Tasks are required on the project but there are no tasks (Check Project profile – Project Management Level section)
- Assignment dates are outside of project or task dates
- Person moved the project from the right to left columns in the My Projects area of the timesheet
- Project is enforcing project/task dates (Project Budget tab setting "Enforce Project/Task dates" is checked), and the date of charge is outside the project/task dates (even if inside the assignment dates)
- Is the project/task active?
- Does the Project Time tab allow Time charges?
- Does the Person's employee type allow the pay codes to which the project is restricted? ADMIN>SETUP>PEOPLE>EMPLOYEE TYPES
- What is the Completed date of the Project on the Project Budget tab? (Charges after that date will not be allowed.)
- If the "Use Financial Orgs" property is turned on: Compare the project Owning Org's Financial tab to the Person Org's Financial tab and confirm they are under the same Legal Entity.
- Is the project Owning Org on the Project a Financial Org?
- Is the project Owning Org on the Task a Financial Org?
Each month we will include a common or recent question asked of our Support Team and share the response with you! Please continue to reach out to our Support Team at 703-689-9709 or email support@unanet.com.

Upcoming Webinar: Chart Your Future with the GAUGE GovCon Report
2018 is stacking up to be a great year for Government Contractors, the future is looking bright!
In helping government contractors plan and strategize for the future, CohnReznick and Unanet partnered to conduct a government contracting industry benchmarking survey. The resultant benchmarking study is known as the GAUGE Report.
The report covers five major categories: Government Contract Compliance, Accounting, Utilization, Growth, and Efficiencies. Come hear from industry experts about the findings in the report and listen to what they are predicting in each of the 5 areas for 2018 and 2019.
Some of the topics they will be discussing are:
• G - What type of DCAA audits should you be expecting in the future? • A - What should you be expending in multiple categories as a % of revenue? • U - How many FTEs do you have in each of your departments? • G - What is your win rate and are you bidding on the right projects? • E - Are your overhead, G&A and fringe rates competitive?
Instead of a crystal ball try the GAUGE to measure yourself against your peers.
After attending the Webcast you will receive access to the report so that you can benchmark your financial operations against those of other government contractors.
